Looks can mean more at certain stages of life,like when we are looking for a relationship that we know will not be permanent.
i know i didn't marry my husband for his looks.i don't believe you are affected by a persons looks once familiarity sets in.ok its a nice status to have a good looking guy by ones side,but you would have to be extremely insecure to place value on this above emotional/mental connection.

I married a man who was beautiful on the outside and charming in the extreme at first.
Then his ugly nature came out and he transformed before my eyes, when I looked at him I no longer saw the beauty but the ugliness.
So yes I have learnt to look past the physical and try see the person underneath.

nicki_love: Ok.. generally speaking. You meet someone who is not normally what you would look for physically. He/She is NOT ugly but has some features that you usually bypass.. However, you begin chatting with this person by a fluke and realise that they are really wonderful.. can you put aside your feelings about their physical appearance or will you allow that to get in the way of a possible meaningful relationship??
