As light began to appear, I looked out into this magical scene... anything could be out there beyond the opacity of a fogged in morning. The land and the trees could stretch on forever to the horizon without so much as a hill or a building or a person standing in obstruction... I can see the Pacific, as it lies in waiting beneath the skyline. So familiar. Birds begin chirping to each other, and I wonder if they see it too. It's Sunday... I don't have to be anywhere.

Last year I spent some time roaming through Tennessee to see the falls colors of the Great Smokey Mountains. Somehow I been into Tennessee every year for the last two! I love your state. I hope to make it into the northeast corner soon. There are some fantastic sights that have been pointed out to me that I want to experience. Maybe this year in my fall trip. This one that I am on now keeps me on the east coast.

I love early mornings. It is a beautiful thing, walking my dog in the cool mornings, seeing the new day's sun gleaming just above the horizon...causing the sea to sparkle...
But damn, 4:30 is a bit early ! !!
