Anyone been to Fuerteventura in the Canary islands ? I'm taking my 11 yr old daughter there in july and wondered what people had to say if they'd been.

hello im Mr leisureman travel guide to CS . I WAS IN fuerteventura in march , im 56 and considered myself the youngest there ,it is without doubt the quietist off all the canaries , i cant comment on what it will be like in july but im sure being the height of the season there will be plenty of children there ,however there is not much to do evening wise as a lot of nightlife is hotel based i expect it depends on which resort you willbe staying at the furher north you are nearer the airport the more villages available to wander around , like all the canaries the beaches are superb and the island hosts a water park and a zoo , hope you wnjoy your holiday but my preference for children would have been playa de inglais gran canaria

Hi Mr Leisureman,

I've been to all the other islands and thought i'd give it a go. My daughter picked it out so i had to book it otherwise i'd have been in trouble he he he. Apparently, she says you can feed the wild chipmunks on the coast road. I'm near caleta de fuste and i know its quiet, just down the road from the airport and i'm all inclusive so won't stray too far from the hotel anyway. Its a chance to spend quality time with my little un away from all the stresses of England. Its mainly about her having a happy memory of her and her old man on holiday together. I can't wait. Looks like the zoo will be on the cards when she finds out.

laugh Why not just come out and say that unless you're of pensionable age with a fondness for wild animals then it's best to forget it rolling on the floor laughing

No matter where i go i usually have good fun. I'm the go and find it type as opposed to the "sit and wait for it to be great then realise i've wasted 2 weeks sitting on my own and been miserable" brigade. Me and Ashleigh(my little sweetpea) will have a great time meeting new friends, feeding the chipmunks and staying on the beach until the sun sets. Sometimes i think most people don't realise just how lucky we are and how precious life and its experiences are. I've been to a lot of places in the Med and the Caribbean and i've learned, for the most part, its who you are that makes a good holiday not where you are.
