How many have been lied to? (17)

I agree with those who say they get lied to by 99% of people some of the time. I would like to add that I lie to 99% of people some of the time, too. To some, like my only friend, my brother, I lied once or twice in my life. To some others, like my aunt whom I hated, I lied to her all the time.

Whether I lie or not is not only guided by how much I gain from not saying the truth; that's only one factor. The other one is how much respect I lack for that person. If I don't respect someone, I can't be even bothered to stretch myself to tell the truth -- I just tell them anything to get them to go away.

I don't know how people in this thread feel, but if you tell me you never lie, well, then... Hephaistophenes, and his famous paradoxical conundrum.

Two weeks ago I found a woman after ten years of non-stop searching who was willing to go on a date with me, and she was NOT very grotesque looking.

I told her I was, and she said, she's not worried about other people's looks, she likes someone whom she can trust, and who will never lie to her.

So I promided that.

In two correspondence changes of emails, she learned to hate me more than the devil.

I don't know why people insist on the truth if they can't handle it.

This came out bad. No, I wasn't putting her down left right and centre. I just came out and told her what my character faults were. She couldn't believe that someone could have so many character faults. I said, everyone does, but not everyone is so closely attuned to their shortcomings as I am.

She reversed her decision to meet me for coffee.

I was seeing this guy for three months. I made some lasagna one night and gave him some to take home. The next day he brought back my tupperware to work but he left his cell phone in the bag. After he left the phone start ringing. I opened it up and there was a wallpaper of another woman and 6 messages on his phone from women he had been seeing and stringing along. I was shocked i really don't know when he got the time we spent alot of time together. Anyway i phoned him at home and said i have your cell phone he came to pick it up and tried to lie his way out of the emails. I asked him 2 questions (1) Are you sorry you really hurt me 0r (2) are you sorry you got caught... he could not answer that is the last i seen of him. But i did hear from some people he said i was crazy ... that hurt. If he wanted to date other women he should have made that known at the start. He did not he asked me after two weeks of dating not to date anyone else because he would not and to come off all dating sites. I did. When i opened that cell phone it was like opening Pandoras box the hurt that came with the phone. I think the lord dropped it right into my hands so i could see in black and white that he was a two timing liar. The truth can walk around naked a lie has to be covered up.....
