Do you know how someone can say something off hand and it be something so small but it strikes a chord with another person. I think about it a lot here lately. The makeing of a bed.

I only ever make my bed up once i change the bedding, i just pull duvet back to air in the mornings..

Yes, I make the bed everyday and change the sheets weekly. Perhaps I've OCD.

Making a bed teaches discipline. Or at least I have read somewhere. Start with making your bed every morning. It adds structure into ones life. I have very little structure this last year. I use to make it every morning. I know my mom and husband are rolling in their graves. Mom always thought one should make a bed. Husband feared getting up in night to come back to a made bed. And now I live alone. But I do change my sheets regularly

Get yourself a quilt...... so much easier to "make" than blankets.Easy to change too..... just a bottom sheet and quilt cover

This is Maine em. I heat with wood most of the time, which means the fire goes out from time to time. BELIEVE me. I have several quilts.Easy to change too..... just a bottom sheet and quilt cover

My dad has a place up in Maine that he re-habbed from top to bottom. He put in the thermal coils for radient floor heat and now loves to call me and tell me all about how it's "warm as toast" up there.
Very proud of himself, he is. Apprently, "heat" is a big-ticket item up in Maine. Gorgeous state though...

Easy for me, one sheet on the mattress and one on the bed but due to it being so warm here at nights, the top sheet is hardly ever used.

I never make my bed!
But I do change the linens sooner than a month
And I used to be kind of crazy about the bed with eveything in place and not a wrinkle in the sheets, not anymore.

Someone had already made the bed before I purchased it. Although I have made, created, a few new headboards, under the bed drawers. The sheets, linens, changed every week or so, and any attempt to fully, and neatly display the bedding is done when I change the sheets, or expecting company. 
Every morning the top cover only gets thrown in place so my black lab does not get dog hairs all over the sheets.

I did when my husband was alive, now since being on my own, not every day. I do change the bedding though regularly, I love getting into a bed with fresh clean, cotton sheets.

How anyone can get into an unmade bed is beyond me. I fix mine as soon as I get out of it each day. Linen changed every weekend.

Well i'm feeling much better now-I'm sure my mother told me i was disgusting not making all the beds in the house every morning,and occasionally not getting around to changing the sheets...seems i'm in good company then lol
