merrilou: @ Dodgebabe .. Hi beautiful . No , no , no !! Hell no you are NOT arrogant in the slightest ... I love your posts and you are one of the better ones on here like Jan_is and a few others...
I am trying to get the gist of why you are being trolled in your own thread ? Help me here , please . I see the same people day in day out being rude, crude and winding good people up ... I am shocked and dismayed .

I myself (and I'm only new) spoke up for myself in a thread and was "dealt" with very swiftly by site admin ... and all along I see this behaviour , such as is now happening in your thread .People saying much much worse than I ever did and he they do it with impunity . Please excuse my rant OP , but I am struggling to see any sense of fairness here ..I like this site ,the forum is second to none . Saying that ,there is a lot of leyway giving to those who "troll and patrol " these forums .
Now if I am banned for saying that ... well I will be ok.

deadbutwhy: I agree with Conrad for the first time. It's a hellish marriage of corporatism and government, akin to fascism. That's why both the "more government" and the "less government" folks are off the mark.

I agree.

In response to: Once again, maybe you should read BRITISH/ENGLISH history, before calling any other nation "arrogant".

Nah... the English were a thieving bunch of barstewards. We have museums full of plunder based on the profits of exploitation. We just said sorry, stiffened the upper lip and got on with it, and don't whinge about people berating our shocking colonial past. Did you say "arrogant"?

Ah, but just because YOU dont whinge about people berating our shocking colonial past, doesnt mean that those affected feel Love and Bunnies toward you either.

A country forgiving itself means little in the scheme of things.

Britain is a Nation of Shopkeepers, first and foremost, but secondly they are a Nation of Whingers! And thats not an insult to Britain; its a fact that alot of Britons agree with!laugh uh oh

I looked at that and you have both EBay & Amazon and we have Tescos and Argos and Ann Summers - they don't equate - you win. You're just trying to be nice and flattering and placate me. We do a reasonable line in whingeing though, I have to agree. We have to find something to occupy our time during our national hobby of queuing - look at what happened in the USSR when they gave up queuing.

"To found a great empire for the sole purpose of raising up a people of customers may at first sight appear a project fit only for a nation of shopkeepers. It is, however, a project altogether unfit for a nation of shopkeepers; but extremely fit for a nation whose government is influenced by shopkeepers."

—Adam Smith, The Wealth of Nations

“I have met charming people, lots who would be charming if they hadn't got a complex about the British and everyone has pleasant and cheerful manners and I like most of the American voices. On the other hand I don't believe they have any God and their hats are frightful. On balance I prefer the Arabs.” Feya Stark.

Errrrr forgive me but wasn't Adam Smith British and a few hundred years ago? You've had Milton Friedman work on his stuff since then and the only people who listened to him were Margaret Thatcher, Regan and the US and UK merchant banks and look what they did...

Im not sure we have been introduced, CC, but wanted to let you know Im not American. I grew up in Britain and Southern Ireland.

I was attempting to make light of the shopkeeper comment!

It was also made famous by Napoleon, in an attempt to put down the British Forces and make them seem unfit to face the French Army.

He failed, of course.grin thumbs up wine

The bashing of America, the turmoil, and turbulance faced by individuals during a disaster, the hurt, the pain individuals face, their individual challenges, all of the previous stops you in your tracks when hearing about it. It happens every second of every day all around the world, just like the many, many glorious things, helping hands that happens every second of every day. It all comes down to ratings of the one in control of what you see, what you hear, and they know you are not going to look for anything that does not come with ease.

Every human being will seek the easiest route to gain possessions, and prosperity, jusy has they will do the same to stay away from anything limiting that prosperity. Those who are in control know the compassion Americans all have in their heart, their desire to help those in trouble. It is in our roots, in our education, and of our desires. Those in control also know that by acting has the go between to distribute the gifts, they increase their ratings. At the rate of their increase those who willingly gave to the distributor lost their gain, their efforts. Were you personally in control of the governments actions with other nations, those nations would not be bashing us (U.S.). They couldn't because we would know the money, the help was being use efficiently. Its all about ratings and the MSM, the current leaders, have been gaining ratings at your espense.

Cool it Ladys, your egos must unite you, not remorse
Liebe2: Well, to you someone that doesn't praise you or dance on your music is an enemy. My simple presence on the world wide web annoys you (remember Facebook), so the fact that you take my post as an insult does not interest me at all.
Run and report me. You are well known for that

Always, Abram.

I am not that well up on the ins and outs of US politics, I leave that to my significant other! But I still very much enjoy learning about it all.

If you read through this thread, it is blatantly obvious which countries' posters are the less respectful toward others. Kind of interesting, that! quoted from above

It is a matter of semantics; of how precise the English language can be, depending, of course upon the person's understanding of it...or not understanding it properly. It is never too late to consult one of the Oxford's dictionaries of English Grammar...even for a native speaker.
