I've started taking a Tai Chi class at college. I was just wondering if anybody on CS does Tai Chi. If so, what benefits have you received from doing it and what do you know about it.

I have been practising Taï Chi (before I moved to Cyprus) for 2 years and really loved it.
After a long illness, it helped me a lot for concentration, equilibrium, breathing.
Unfortunately, I cannot find any Taï Chi school here in Larnaca.

I liked the exercises, really good for the whole body, as well as psychologically. It's like meditation in motion.

I love Tai Chi. I'm trying to find another class to take in my area. You can get a very good workout going thru the moves. Almost as good as aerobic exercises.

I'd love to take it up and have been looking for a few years for classes in my local area. Sadly none available in the evenings. Anything that chills you out and keeps you healthy , calm and flexible has got to be good.

Hi Gab!

There are no schools in my area, either. It just so happens that this man that is training under the Grand Master is teaching a basic class at the college. I don't think we will even begin to touch what Tai Chi has to offer us. The class only lasts for a month.

Hi Jeff wave One of things that I have learned thus far is that Tai Chi is about using the least amount of energy as possible. So, instead of being the aggressor, if I'm understanding it correctly, it is about defense and counter attack.

You are suppose to learn about storing up your energy in your chi.....hope I'm telling this correctly. You guys that practice this may could explain it better.

Why don't you get a group instructor license and teach it yourself applause

Hi Merri and Mindfulwave
I'm only a beginner. It takes years of practise and participating in many training courses before you can teach Taï Chi.

Actually it was a class offered at a Senior Citizens Activity Network (SCAN) in New Jersey. Not only a good workout but it trains you on balance which is critical as we age.
