taff1: Beckenbauer is my choice for best of all time! As a Welshman I have to say that Giggs also became a detriment to Wales too, as he never showed any real interest in playing for his country. He's not liked by alot of Welsh people because of his lack of interest in international commitment. m u has always been more important to him!
I think that's the problem for a lot of the UK players who are in the premiership - club first, country second - it's just not right and whilst many will knock Beckham for his celebrity status and off field antics, he played his little heart out every time he played for his country - as it should be!!!

I agree with you about Beckham. He always showed up for his country and was hungry to play, and still is!! Yeah we celebrate wins over anybody to be fair as it doesn't happen too often.

Sorry but I don't think that Ryan Giggs is even close to Beckenbauer to be honest. Speaking of German players, I'd rate Lothar Mattheus (spelling) just as high as Giggs.
