When it first started there were a few people asking people to vote, sign up as friends etc. So people rate for various reasons.
I wouldn't take it too seriously as truly in the end does it means much? The people who actually write or express interest are the ones I pay attention to. I have heard people say its been a way to initiate conversations because sometimes people are shy to write. So if someone gives you a high rater, then maybe its an opportunity to say thanks and start a conversation if you are interested.
Mmmm...I must have missed something. I rate photo's just on the photo's themselves. Never got anything back and don't expect anything back.

Where the hell have I been
Wasn't aware this was going on...have never "rated" a photo and didn't know that mine would be...shows how much attention I pay to the whole dealio!!! No worries, my man and I hooked up a short month into the CS world - so I guess I just am not that interested. I do know that I do not, have not nor will ever allow someones "opinion" of my appearance affect me...just saying

I didn't take it back! I was even going to vote 14.6 but they didn't let me. Nuts, well nothing to do now on a boring Friday night....can't rate your photo's. Sure did like a couple of them though.

I don't pay too much heed to how people rate my photo...am always changing them around anyway, so most of them wouldn't get a chance to be rated very highly!

As to the lower scores...well, I just never look. It would depress me too much I think.
Also, I tend to like to rate someone a 10 if they look and sound like a really nice, genuine, kind person, but that means having to read through their profile, so I only usually do this when I am a bit bored
