Strolling past a stall at our fabulous Central market, towards closing time, I stopped at the organic produce. My eyes strayed towards some meaty bones with a clear plastic cover, and then to the label in front which said:
:FEMALE PIG'S TROTTERS
How intriguing, I thought! How does one tell, and why should it matter whether the trotter belonged to a boy or a girl pig???
I just had to ask the rosy cheeked lassie behind the counter.
She was most accommodating, and treated the matter most seriously.
Her answer:
A female pig's trotters taste sweeter than the male's. Aslo, the male trotter meat smells awful.
So there you go
Everything you wanted to know about a pig's trotters, but were too afraid to ask!

They're called crubeens here... another tip: Eat them with the lights off... that way you don't see all the tasty fat thats going down your gullet.

Wow, that makes them sound awfully exotic.
No wonder one would want to be in the dark with all the fatty dribble. Wouldn't look too classy, would it?

Yesterday, I went to visit an alternative medicine clinic that has some elements of Mexican ancient cultures. Quite interesting their approach because they say that the mind and the spirit have to be healthy in order for the body to be healthier too.
