Could be here all day with stories...all i'll say is DO IT!!!
Was the best thing i ever did, and if i could, i'd do it all again right now! Am actually thinking about it for next year again.

Take the oppertunity while your young and get out there!banana

Go for it. Used to do it alot in my younger days. Will be doing it again soon. No better company then yourself. Have a plan. But make sure that plan allows for deviation.

First time i went to States, i travelled alone, but had friends there. They had gone ahead of me, so were well set up, so i stayed in hostels alone until i got sorted with jobs and apt. Was the best thing for me though. I felt total freedom, and while i'd normally be quite shy, you're forced out of that and you meet so many people then.

Did the same in Austrailia..started alone, then met up with friends and family, met so many characters along the way.

Where are you thinking of travelling?

Go for it and enjoy every minute.

I can't wait to be able to have a holiday. Will be a solo one and I'm looking forward to seeing what it's like.

I have only ever gone on holidays for a week alone so that probably does not count.
I would say possibly try and research the places you are going rather than just winging it. It is one thing to just turn up somewhere and hope to find accomodation when you have travelling buddies but I would imagine it would be better and safer to be a bit more organized when travelling alone.
I totally agree with MK.......Go for itcheering cheering cheering

think SL means that the plan can change depending on the direction the wind is blowing?? ... plan changes allow flexibility and the chance for unexpected surprises ... travelled on my own, just for short holiday this year, bit apprehensive to start but excellent holiday ...

Meaning, allow yourself time to sidetrack from your itinerary in case you find something (or someone) interesting. There's nothing worse than finding out later that you were 45 minutes away from something really cool but had to miss it because of a time schedule.

thumbs up Defo have a plan. Do some googling..there's lots of companies doing group travel stuff if you're wary of going alone. You can have everything sorted before you leave. You may have to get to your destination alone, but that's grand. Great way to meet peeps, then ye can deviate off whenever ye like then.
