I have just started talking to my ex again and we seem to be getting on well but i am unsure if i want it to become anything more than friendship. it has been over a year and i think she wants to be together again. Help help

sorry to be cynical but... has she given you the line "I realise i amde the biggest mistake of my life" yet? if not it will come......she sees you as safe and may not want you back but dosent want to let you go either...I hope you prove me wrong as there are cases of this working out fine... actually I am going to a wedding in the 23rd of a couple who are marrying each other for the 2nd time.but this is very rare.
and above all dont forget SHE IS AN EX FOR A REASON...if you are unhappy alone please dont settle for second best just to be with someone...it can lonlier in being part of an unhappy couple than being alone.
kepp us informed and good luck no matter what you decideangel

Hi Devon , I just had to look at your age .. 21 ? In order that you get back together , both of you must consider
1 - Have you changed ?
2 - Has she changed ?
3 - I am not sure if you have any children . If you have not and you are not sure , then things will get a lot more complicated if she get pregnant . If you have children , then they will get hurt again .
Take a long long time considering the issue . You need a frank , sober and unromantic get-together discussing it all .
There are councillors out there who are good at their job .. Find them and take advice .

Good luck

im exactly the same position mate, except my ex tells whose she seeing and whats shes doing. it grates because im not with anyone. mostly because im pursueing my dream. I left her and this is prpbably her way of getting back at me. i would n't go back to her because she seeing somebody else allegedly, and ex's always play games. don't go back mate, move on and make her realise that ure not as trapped in the past as she mmy be.

Hi, i found personally that being friends with the ex nearly always ends up crossing the line, but then it depends how long you were together i guess. If you were with your partner for a long period of time, you fall into a "comfortable" situation all to easy. As they say better the devil you know !!

I think in all honesty, if you (or the ex) finished the relationship, then it was for a good reason, Has that situation changed? or will you be facing the same problems again?

If you want to keep it just friends then make this clear to your ex

imo ex's trying to get back together doesn't work.

i have no contact with my ex...just threw his parents mediators....it is better that way for us. often times you have to look at the situation like this. they are EX's for a reason.....I would not date an ex over again, but my one ex boyfriend from many moons ago and I are just friends....He remained close with my family and some mutual friends. (but everytime he sees me he still makes some sort of reference to when we were together..or if hes drinking he'll say "you know you miss me" . Drives me nuts I laugh and walk away!
