yesterday i got 2 emails from CS in my external mailbox saying ”You have new mail at Connecting Singles”, yet there wasn't any new mail there when i logged in...

Any ideas anyone? Happened to anyone else? Or is it possible for the sender to somehow have deleted them??

The most likely reason is that the sender was a scammer who was deleted by the Mods, when a member is deleted all their mail/flowers etc are deleted as well.

Had you received CS email that you read before the notice was sent? That's happened to me. 1) CS mail sent 2) I log in, read it 3) CS sends notice. Seems that if mail is sent while you're not logged in, CS registers it but does not send notice till sometime later. My best guess is a 4-hour interval.

Or yes it could be the sender deleted it in the meantime.

Last Friday I sent a message to a person, as we were chatting. He states he didn't get it. I went to the outbox to retrieve it aand re-send....and it was gone. So I agree there has been glitches.

No, once the mail has been sent I don't think its possible for the sender to delete it. Probably just a glitch in the system, I have had that before, I think many have.....

cheers

Thanks all and good to know... but since i posted this CS support have (very nicely) contacted me about this and according to them the most likely scenario is that the person sending them had their profile removed. A profile deletion apparently removes all posts, forums, emails, pics, etc., posted by that person.

They probably deleted their profiles after sending, that would cause mail to disappear.
