As a dedicated and loyal fan of the American tv series "Northern Exposure", I have decided to set up a Northern Exposure CS Appreciation Society for those of us that loved this 90's comedy/drama.
Crystal29....you'de better help me out here, or I'll be the only one posting!!!!!
If you have ever viewed any of my videos, poetry extracts, music, movies or even books, you may have noticed that all of them have Northern Exposure (NX) related stuff on them! Well, if you loved this quirky series as much as I did, then here is your chance to post some of your favourite stuff
hem23: Was the best show of the 90s by a long shot, wasnt so great tho after Rob Morrow left. My fave character was Chris the DJ ( John Corbett )
Yeah... I agree. It was a real shame that Rob Morrow left. It did change the dynamics of the show a lot, especially as he was one of the main characters. My favourite character was also Chris but I always dreamed of being Maggie, getting to fly that little bush plane!
And as for Holling Vincoeur...well, I could just listen to that voice all day!
Well Juneau I used to look forward to watching NX...with a glass of wine...when my kids were tucked up in bed and fast asleep....heres one of my favourite clips!....

ladyfingers: I loved that show. Watched it every week. I would love to see reruns of it.
One of my fav episodes was when the poor old guy had SAD and went around with a light on his head....because that's me in the winter.
However, I haven't figured out to hook the light on yet without electrocuting myself.
Oh yeah!! I faintly remember that one! Hope it was a "daylight" bulb!!
By the way folks...if you look on Amazon.co.uk or Amazon.com or Play.com you may be able to buy the seasons cheaper than in the shops. I have the entire boxset, but due to lack of finances, only bought one season at a time. Considering how many episodes you get in one season, it really is good value for money. I have already watched the entire series twice! Probably will start it again this winter...it's nice to turn off the lights, light some candles, get the fire going (even if it is an electric "pretend" log burning stove ) and be transported to Cicely, Alaska
You should definitely check it out. It was a wonderful show.
Basically, here's the premise:
"Joel Fleischman is a nebbishy Jewish doctor from New York City, and a fresh faced medical school graduate. He's also about to begin the four year service contract he promised to the state of Alaska, who financed his education. But he just happened to forget reading some of the stipulations in his contract, that has assigned him to the small post of Cicely, Alaska. A town of 215 people that welcomes it's newest resident with open arms. As he contends with the daily lives and rituals of these all too normal and trusting folk, Joel just might realize that Cicely's quieter ways are probably more civilized than the hustle and bustle of Manhattan. Made up of Cicely's various residents, patients and friends of Fleischman include wealthy former astronaut Maurice Minnifield; feisty pilot Maggie O'Connell; mayor and saloon owner Holling Vincoeur; his sweet, naive waitress girlfriend Shelly Tambo (who's old enough to be his daughter); intellectual ex-con and disc jockey Chris Stevens; Joel's far wiser and very quiet receptionist Marilyn Whirlwind; kindly store owner Ruth-Anne Miller, and avid film buff Ed Chigliak"
