Sometimes well-meaning friends who are in relationships, usually long marriages in my experience, may try to fix you up with someone or want you to be in a relationship, but that´s their failure to understand the concept of being single in middle-age fully. I know, I felt the same way when I was married and wanted all my single friends to hook up and be as happy as I was.
Even my mum, who for a few years after my divorce was absurdly keen for me to meet somebody, now thinks I´m best alone, or at least until someone really worthy of me comes along.
Fortunately I have a good mix of friends, married, in relationships, and single, so I rarely feel any pressure to jump into something just because....know what I mean?
yes .. I know exactly .. it's gotta be perfect
