Well I think that you need to remember that everytime you log back into the thread it shows as viewed as well as those individuals who simply view and then leave without making a comment.
I certainly view alot more threads and posts to read and see how and what others responses are ..... then what I actually post myself. Truly to post to every thread is not necessary in my opinion.

Many threads have an obscure title (eg: "Ever Notice?") and it is not always obvious what the thread is about and I don't feel the need to respond to most of them (and neither should anyone else).
Well there are many who are shy and just mostly lurk. Some also read posts but may not relate to the subject at hand or have any good advice to give.

Well they may not feel as if they have any good advice, or may not be able to relate to the topic....but surely they have a question or a topic they would like to discuss with us?? Perhaps its something someone else was thinking but was too "shy" to post...

Now we have 10 people answered.
All the 10 people go to look at what the 11th person answered.
And some don't reply, you will always have more views than posts.
