just heard there on the radio about a new 7.5% tax for everyone regardless of income that is being considered by the government. as bad as the income levy is at least its according to ones income how much you pay. how do they expect lower paid workers like me to only pay the same as someone on a high salary.

the problem is if ya tax the rich too much theyll just become tax exiles
i dont know where its all gonna end
if we dont balance the books quick the imf will take over and slaughter the poor

That's what the Brits did, take the childrens allowance off the rich, it makes sense, just as taking the medical card off the over 70's who have money would also make sense.

theres a clause in the deal that says they can scrap it at any time anyway so.......................

On a serious note I only work a few hours at the weekends and take home 70 euro from that, If thats going to be taxed then theres no point in working at all, I may sign on fully

Bring back third level fees, there's no justification for them at all, all they did was make the comfortable people even more comfortable.

i never got a grant in my last year..and my parents are pension age..it was a killer to watch ones in my year piss all the grant money or whatever was giving to them down the drain when i struggled,but hey thats lifemumbling
