(quote from referred thread - "I put alot of effort in haiting it because its fun. Relieves my stress. Woo.")

While I'm a Christian, I don't care to argue religion, or for that matter, politics, either.
Started thread for the above reasons... don't plan to make replies. (Though if you want a reply, let me know by mail & I'll try to get back to you. Don't mind questions or discussions, but just don't care to debate. Thanks.)

Not just xtians, but the full gamut of religions, are a blight.

But, if one person believes they can hear voices, then they are locked up, if a million people believe it, they call it a religion ... go figure!

I couldn't agree with you more. Religion of any kind is a blight on humanity and society, it has caused more hatred and murder than even the blight of nationality.

For me there is no difference between Christianity, Islam, Scientology, Hara Krishnas.... They are all cults. Only this summer the "Holy See" in the Vatican decreed that you can no longer Offically remove yourself from the Catholic church, ie you can leave but not officially..... YES at last they have shown their true colours.... they are a BIG CULT but a CULT non the less.

Religion is only about POWER, CONTROL and MONEY. The sooner the world can see it for what it is the better

well..whether one likes it or not, the truth is almost 2 billion people in this world like to call themselves "christian" and find comfort and satisfaction in it. so it can't really be that bad after all if so many people believe in it.dunno

And which of the particular "CULTS" do you belong to? Religion separates people into groups, who each want control and ownership of this mythical GOD. Personally i stopped believing in make believe friends when i was 5 years old... May be you should consider doing the same

i don't object to people believing in different religions - i do object when they become fanatical about it or when they insist that their religious beliefs be written in to law.

Any form of religious belief....is a matter of personal choice...to live within the parameters that the particular religion dictates....

...however....it does not have the right to implement those same beliefs on any others that do not abide by the same ethics....

I'm Orthodox Christian in origin, but I don't find Christian religion very familiar. I respect it, of course, as any other, but I don't believe in it. It's a little too naive for my taste. smile But I understand why it gives people stability and it's interesting to observe how Christian belief affected European way of thinking and the way we see and experience life and 'reality'. smile
