Sounds like you either A) got fixed DNS settings / IP setting for the network card or B) a router that's using a non standards DNS forwarding method.

Start checking A, then B.

If neither work, de-install the said network card from Device Manager and reboot. Let card reinstall and try again.

Stop cracking other peoples net, btw laugh

Ah, and check your proxy settings for the computer, as well as firewall and such, it could be filtering your connecting in one window while all is fine in another...

Ok it's kinda bending the rules..But it's not like I'm asking to borrow someones girlfriend or wife for the weekend....

First thing I did was run an auto-dect thingy and it said every thing was normal...I was sending and recieving packets, speed was 100mb's...(I was on ASDL)...Turned off the fire wall and even diconnected my anti-virus..It was then I tried a Linsky dongler job (it's almost new) and ..no Joy (this is true)..

Then my mucker went down (he was on wifi at the time). So I put in a ubuntu CD, booted up and ran the 'demo'...and there was 'GOOGLE' in front of me..

So I rebooted normally...Fired up the host (win7)..then fired up ubuntu & back track via VMware (virtual machien folk's, it's better than virtual box<----JMO)..And once again 'GOOGLE'. So I decided to install billy boy virtually and once installed..fired it up and ZERO!!!!!!!!!

Then for what ever reason around 5.30pm...everything worked as normal..(both via wifi and ADSL)..

I've no answers...

Radder's I was clutching not only at straws but just about everything else...I was either Zoigged or it's the start of the NWO preparing people for a 'cyber attack..In a nutshell folk's..I reckon someone will pull the plug on google for a day or two, and steal as much info about 'YOU' as possible...Then they'll re-flick the switch, google is back and everyone has been porked, with out evening knowing about it..(back records, out dated libray book's..what you had for breaky.. )

My machien is as clean as whistle...I've no explanation. Unless the 'V's' are out there..

All I know is yesterday I couldn't connect to the net..and there was no logical reason, everything was paid..Modem is fairly new. Unless because of the strike here in sarkoland yesterday France Telecom were understafffed and porked my mucker<--With out permission..

I've no idea..But I sent him an IM this morning and he's up..

Maybe you can throw some light on the subject Mike..I can't..

My mucker got in touch with his supplier and they said his ADSL filter is probably frazzled...And the will send a techie head out on Mon to have a look...(supplier is Orange)

All I know is the other day it worked perfectly with Ubuntu and BT4 (via VMware..host is Billy boy's 7)...But going through Billy Boy gates windows he's Zoigged...
