Hi, I would interpret it to mean that they are just looking for a quick fix or they could be relationship shy or have a phobia to commitment. Reasons could be many.

I agree with you, honesty is always the best policy and I know on some dating sites they have that option and the guys are honest enough to put just that if that is what they are after.I guess it will be one of those great mysteries of mankind or is it just CS and do they even have that option I haven't taken any notice.bonsai.

Well, I've gone from "long term", to "dating", to "friends/hang out" in the time I've been on here.
I'm not sure I want to slide down to "short term" or "intimate encounter", at least not yet.
Ultimately long term is what I want, some day, but I'm happy with just friends for the time being, so that's what I have on my profile.

That's what i figure they mean or they are married or already in a relationship and just want shortterm while their other half is away

It is possible on CS to have Intamit (Spelling Duh) Encounters as what your looking for.
I prefer to think positively about Short term like TB did.
