smoky: Yes, that is what makes Switzerland "tick", I think? At least everyone is trained to do SOMETHING....Not to just have a basic academic education ... reading, writing, arithmetic.

Even shop assistants have to do a 3 year apprenticeship!!!..learning ALL about how the shop runs ..... ordering, pricing, customer relations, cleaning, etc etc... all about the products, bread baking, cheese selections ...... They dont just sit behind the till!

Here most shop assistants have a strong Russian dialect, I don´t think they had any apprenticeship, they just sit behind the till and are not very friendly, by the way.

Much as I can see most of the problems, I think for the forseeable future,we are stuck with what we have, especially with the rise of Asia and the Chinese as the cash rich trading power. We will just have to put up with some countries who feed off the majority. If we do not accept this situation, however good, bad or fair or unfair,we will have to accept that our lifestyles are unsustainable with over a billion Asians who will happilly work longer for less.
Tulefel: Then what would be the conclusion? “United we stand”?

Of course, EU has to continue with euro, as there’s not much choice. I always laughed at conspiracy theories, but now I’ve got such a thought myself: the lenders’ leaders barely can carry on their own line in politics even on home field, not to mention foreign. And there’s a few countries that may have need loans in the nearest future. And as beggars can’t be choosers, the real power will go to people who never been elected. (IMF – who are those people?) Somehow scaring – will huge debts EU’s only uniting power?

‘Increasingly, environmental and social non-governmental organisations around the world, with the complicity of some governments, are embedding themselves in policy and regulatory frameworks in which they have commercial interests, and they do so with no mandate from the people and with no accountability.’
