Well, maybe they meant that since the Glacier started smelting dramatically, they don’t produce useful water lakes, but just catastrophes. Remember the happening in Vallis, some 8 years ago. It was ice and rubbish rolling down and destroying the whole village. Mother earth needs more time to absorb water in a useful way for us. Read about that matter in the ETH-studies, where a close friend of me is participating since 2 decades now.

Actually what I said was "tongue in cheek" ... but ..... where in Switzerland is there "rubbish"?
Living in Switzerland, and doing studies here, one learns that Switzerland uses less than 20% of its available water .. the rest of it runs to other countries.......
It also has its original forests, essential to water retention and slow dissipation into the rivers.
As a matter of interest ..... being land-locked, all the water used here is returned ..... with less than 3% pollution, which is less than one gets in commercial bottled water, anywhere!
