I think we can all agree that what we wanted at 20 is not what we may want at 30, is not what we may want at 40...
My question is the longer you remain single, do you find that the "ideals" you once had in mind for your mate begin to dwindle? Does the list get shorter? What about "mistakes" in your past experiences...what you may have made a big deal about back then, no longer seems so important an issue now?
I am not suggesting that your "moral standards" have dropped...but moreso the "needs" in a partner...

I wouldn't say my standards have dropped, but i can say they have improved...I look for someone alot more mature than I would have in my early 20's...

Standards not dropped, but I have learned a lot. I know what I seek, and if its not possible, then I am fine being alone, simple as that..............and that is not to say I regret anything I have lived.............
No, I havnt dropped My Moral Values in what I Desire as a Mate, So Yes, it will take Longer to find that one Special Person, I am not Desperate, and the Time Sacrificed will be worth the Wait....

Standards have not dropped, but needs have definitely changed. What I thought I "needed," at 20 years old or even 30 years old is not even close to what I'd "like" to have at almost 40 years old.
I've learned that nothing in life is certain and "ideal" is simply a concept that exists in my mind, perception fails and the only thing I can really count on is my gut instincts, life experiences and reality.

As a direct answer to the question, an emphatic NO!
I've got it the other way around - My standards are raising with time.
The longer I'm single and the more happy and content I'm getting on my own the more I'm expecting from a potential partner. I want to evolve and not devolve .
