How comfortable are you telling family, friends, co-workers or even mere aquaintances that you met your partner - or is looking for a partner - on the internet?

Good retort; If, this were to actually occur I would re word it slightly:
I don't answer to anyone, and I would have no problem telling my kids that we met via the Internet. It is/was the only option I had." However, as it would never occur, I'd never worry about.wine

If I was looking and met someone I'd be very comfortable sharing my good news with whomever.

My niece met her husband on the net, and has just had their second child.

Whenever I meet new people socially, the conversation often turns
to internet dating. Someone usually goes on about how awful it must be, full of weirdos etc., how can people possibly do that, it's not normal etc. blah blah blah. Then they ask me what I think.

And I just say, 'Oh, actually, I met my last partner on the net'

laugh

Agreed.

The Internet has brought me not only my ex wife and a few girlfriends, but cars, furniture, jobs and all kinds of good deals.

It has just made it all more convenient.

As for relathionships though it does allow for some "ice breaking"....esp for shy people and nondrinkerslaugh
