My sister coming home from UK too. She had flights cancelled twice because of ash cloud, hope won't happen to her now again!

Its hard to beat our own met office site and their forecast isn't the worst for the rest of this week...

Later on Wednesday showery rain will push in the north and northwest and the westerly winds will strengthen overnight. The lowest temperatures will be zero to +2 degrees. Thursday the winds will become fresh to strong and gusty and veer northerly. Rain will spread southwards followed by very cold conditions. The rain will turn to sleet as it becomes colder and then clear to wintry showers. Thursday night the wintry showers will continue along the north and west coast with the risk of thunder. It will be very cold with lowest temperatures of -2 to -5 degrees with a sharp to severe frost as the winds ease and skies clear. Friday will see further wintry showers along the north and west coast with the risk of thunder. It will be very cold with top temperatures just around freezing.
Not Lanzarote granted but I don't think the seas will freeze over!!

Thanks Sally - that's awesomely sweet! I was just randomly reading threads there and all of a sudden there was my name! So thanks for the thought it was really sweet!I was just looking into the weather myself after seeing that link - and it's not meant to be too bad around Dublin on thursday it seems - so I should make it out of here fine aswell - and checking further into the trip the Northeast of the US seems to be getting a little bit of snow this week but nothing major they can handle it alot better there than we can here - that's for sure! There's millions of snowplows and piles and piles of sand/grit for the roads and I've gone in winter a few times already and have never had any problems getting out of the airports there either in light snow. So after all the flights - I think the worst part will be the 8 hour wait in the 2nd airport for the 2nd flight and then after all the flights the 3 hour drive to my family home - that'll be the worst for sure if there's any kind of snow happening!
But thanks again Sally - was really to see my name on a thread in a positive way for a change!
