On behalf of Obama to the entirety of America. he would like to apologize for the health care bill that was passed earlier this year that was just ruled unconstitutional in a Virginia Federal Court based on the fact that Obama did not check to see if insurance sales were considered interstate commerce or not. Because it is in fact not interstate commerce, the Federal government relinquishes all rights to sell insurance based on state laws and regulations to the STATE. When it is finally ruled unconstitutional for this reason in the Supreme Court later in 2011, he would like to apologize in advance for not lowering the increased membership rate for AARP members and forcing a hike in premiums for people with privatized health care. The increase in premiums by the way was to make everyone WITH privatized health care pay for those WITHOUT health care. just another hand out. This is similar to the price of gas hike under Bush. Once it went over $2 a gallon, it never went back down, and it never will as long as we show even a little interest in oil.

He would also like to apologize to the American people for leaving his own press conference where he was supposed to talk about the war in Afghanistan and the recent ruling in Virginia to allow Bill Clinton to answer all the questions. Obama made the excuse that Michelle was waiting for him back stage so he wanted someone else to take the questions. This lack of initiative and willingness to talk about our country's problems will not go un-noticed.

Like, really? if you still support this guy after he spent billions of dollars to pass a bill that he did not initially check the constitutionality of, after he was humiliated at the G20 summit last month, for calling the American people who did not support the democrats in the mid term election "enemies who will be punished," and for the first president in history leaving his own press conference, then you need to get your head checked.

(insert deity of choice here) bless America, and 2012 cannot come soon enough.

Say what you want in this post, but whatever you say will never inspire me to see even an ounce of pride in my current president. And trust me, I was not too fond of the last one either.

does this mean that states can't require vehicle owners to have to get car insurance?

I mean if it's unconstitutional for healthcare, it's the same practice in vehicle insurance of them making you have to get it or face fines.

Not yet, but I could see it being a requirement. I'm just on page 3 of the 2576 pages of the new law. Let me catch up.

We've got to pass it to see what goodies are in it. laugh

No, they can under their individual state law. The federal government however cannot support a national auto insurance plan for all Americans because insurance laws only apply on a state to state bases. The interstate commerce clause does not support a national insurance company from conducting business. And of course you can said Geico and State Farm and whatever are national companies that sell insurance in every state, however, they must sell insurance in each state based on those laws. No agent can sell insurance in another state without first passing a test to sell insurance in that state. Although the COMPANY is nationwide, the POLICY cannot be made consistent from state to state since the individual laws each state holds for insurance companies are not protected under the interstate commerce law.

Why has he spent millions to prevent people from seeing his original birth certificate?
May be the guy himself is unconstitutional?
I'm no birther, but if anyone wants to see my birth certificate, no problem.
My Grandmother was born in Massachusetts, so I feel an affinity for the US.

The guy from Indiana is right, You do not NEED to have a car and you do not NEED to go to a doctor if you do not want. But once again, there are certain differences in law on a state to state basis that prevents the federal government from creating a nation wide health care reform. unless the United States government decides to take that right away from the states, which will never happen, a public health care plan cannot apply. It is not a matter of wanting v needing to go to the doctor. It is a matter of State Law protected under the Constitution v. Federal Law which cannot interfere with State law
