wikked: Is it possible to love the post and/or thread...but not the "poster" so much?
That depends on the poster and the observers perception and/or motivations and agenda. Person A And person B may post exactly the same thing, including emots etc and it could well be met with an entirely different response. We are nothing like as none judgmental as we care to believe.
The only time I would see that as an issue is when a poster consistently puts up threads with no other purpose then creating conflict other then that I don't let it effect me.

Is their post an extension of themself...or merely an opinion (based on what everyone else is saying...)
Sure it's possible to love the personality of someone but not the person itself, in a sense that's what their posts are...Their personality.
Whether they are expressing how they truly feel or going along with the crowd, in a sense, it is still an extension of who they are...I think it's easy to figure out who they are or what type of person they are regardless of if they are those that follow the crowd or have thoughts of their own by merely observing what they say over a period of time.
If they are followers, they will constantly agree and never share a thought regardless of unpopular it may be. If they are showing an extension of themselves, it is often apparent through the use of the words they use and if they stick to points that may not be popular in a particular thread.
