I need a big favour!!

My students are putting on a Christmas play, which consists of a number of small plays, songs dancing etc all performed in English by the Students studying English, I have been asked to give a video “fly on the wall documentary” of a typical Western Christmas day.
It then crossed my mind that if I could add some “Best Wishes” from around the world, the students would just love it.

So, can anyone out there make a short video (Digital camera/camcorder), just saying Hello and wishing all the students a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year? Only about or less than 1 minute.

I would be so grateful if anyone can help, plus it would be great for the students to hear English spoken with many different accents. Especially those who have English as a second language!!

Thanking you in advance. Rizlared. teddybear

Come on guys, this is not true Christmas sprite, just a short 30 second video would be ok, most digital cameras and even mobile phones can do this, believe me, it will really make a huge impression on these kids, and bring them closer to Western kindness, something they rarely see.

I have English as fourth language and my Christmas is 2 weeks after yours – I’ve got lots of time, looks like, so be patient.

Christmas is not really celebrated here in China, but, because the students are learning western languages they wanted to do something to celebrate, and of course chose the 25th Dec to be the date for Christmas, when I was in Russia I remember it was the 7th Jan I think. My rush is that it will take me time to edit it all together, I am not a film producer laugh so will have to learn on the job so to speak.
But, if you can help then I would be extremely grateful, especially as it is your 4th language, it would give great confidence to them and help them realise they can succeed just as you have.

I have no video camera, I’m afraid, so I can’t help you. But I suspect that one or another of your students might have heard Russian accent anyway. (Ours are everywhere…uh oh )

But I wish you all good luck!

Not here laugh laugh , there are about 16 europeans in my city of 1.5 million, 2 are English, one German, one Slovenian, 3 Brazilians and the rest are polish rolling on the floor laughing
But we did have two Russian girls working in a dance club, not somewhere the students would venture (Too old fashioned for them), they have left now as they found better work in Hong Kong, but they were lovely girls with wicked sense of humour, I really enjoyed meeting them and showing them around the area.

Hey everyone knows Russian women are the most beautiful in the world, and it gave my street credibility a great boost to be seen with such lovely girls, one on each arm, walking around the city.

I'm with my friends right now, discussing the script, and he's even donned his Santa hat!laugh

They really would like a particular member of the household to be here for it as she is from China and would love to take part. So if she can be here later, well and good, otherwise we will make it and send it off to you tonight, anyway.

Seems some have become paranoid about trust, so sad really, it is not as though a Christmas greeting could actually cause some problem for them in the future, or do they think by appearing in a 1 minute video, somehow I can clone them laugh
Oh well at least there are a few who can understand the value of this idea and have contributed some wonderful greetings, the students will be overwhelmed, and it will open their eyes to real western people.
Thank you for your supportbouquet

Hi Riz,

Check your email for some rare footage from the southern hemisphere.laugh Honestly, we had such a great time as this exercise brought a number of us together for a grand evening.
There should be 4 very short vids in your mail box.

The young lassie from China is here studying Masters in Accounting and happily sent her greetings, too. In the end, it was her own snappy sony with all its bells and whistles, that we used. No complaints from me! Oh, and you would never believe dear B. is an octogenerian! Btw, he insisted on giving his full name dunno

Hope you all have a wonderful concert on the 27th.

Thank you so much they are wonderful, the students will be so excited and honoured to see these videos, they are so respectful towards "Foreigners" !! and never really get the chance to see any, here in a population of 1.5 million there are only 16 Europeans and most of those keep to themselves, so these videos will really make them sit up
Many many thanks, you are an Angel angel2 gingerbread
