Does anyone have any they would like to share?

It might be interesting and some of us might find a new tradition we might like to try with our own families.

Incase any one has young children, grandchildren, nephews, nieces, or just over grown over the hill kids like Brian, you might enjoy tracking Santa as he delivers gifts.

Just copy and paste the above link, it works better that way, or just google Norad Santa Tracker. :-)

DID YOU KNOW
1. According to old Irish folklore, to have good health in the coming year, you should eat an apple on Christmas Eve?
2. You should never launder a Christmas gift before giving it to the recipient? It washes out the luck?
3. It is unlucky to wear a ragged garment on Christmas Day? A hole meant a leak in the purse. However, if clothing is torn on the big day, it should not be sewn; it should be pinned together.

God bless the corners of your house and all the lintels blessed.
And bless the hearth and bless the board and bless each place of rest,
And bless each door that opens wide to strangers as to kin,
And bless each crystal window pane that lets the starlight in,
And bless the rooftop overhead and every sturdy wall.
The peace of man. The peace of God. With peace and love for all.

Two things I always remember...however they were about new years...

Never have dirty laundry in the house new years eve...or you'll have dirty laundry all year (go figure!)...however in the hopes that somehow my laundry won't pile up roll eyes I always make sure all my laundry has been done...

I open the door at midnight if I'm at home to usher "in" the new year into my home...dunno

Growing up we would go out into the bush to cut down a tree on Christmas eve and decorate it when we got home.

After dinner we would go to Christmas eve service and during that time Santa would come and when we got home we would open up our gifts.

I usually by a tree from one of the stores that sell them, but part of my family is coming up to celebrate with me so
we are going to go out and cut down tree on Christmas Eve morning and go to church after dinner.

Of course there will be lots of food and treats. Cooking Turkey for the very first time in my life. :)

like many, i am cooking a turkey dinner for friends and family. last year, after dinner, we melted tin pellets in a spoon and took turns pouring the liquid into water where it made shapes. each person then makes an association to the shape they poured. the associations were hilarious. my personal tradition....a little coffee with my baileys and repeat as necessary.
