Why, being Russian I, of course, heard about vobla.
As a matter of fact, I have one in my cupboard – remains after guests from Russia that visited me this summer. The plan was to consume it with beer, but as I don’t fancy beer at all… so vobla still is lying there waiting for her time.
As to your American friend and his dog… as far as I’m concerned, they can keep to Macdonald’s.
