Depend on whether the "pity party" as you call it, stems from depression or from some other cause.

If it stems from depression, then there is no liklihood of a description of any "worse" situation in the world, that will make them feel better. It is a chemical imbalance.

So called "normal" people can feel a little (even a lot) down every so often, or even at a time of the month, or when under stress, or in certain circumstances, but there can absolutely be no comparison made between ordinary folk and chronically depressed people.

It is wrong to make generalised statements about things like why people are "down", or how other people are worse off.......

Often no one knows WHY people are down, so they shouldn't make judgements.wine

Trust this, I have seen some long hard roads in My Life, Tho

Every time i feel Down
Somehow I look Arround,
I see Many who have had it worst
Like I've never even experienced Thirst

Seems sometimes Our Baddest
cant compare of their Sadness
when we really look to see
we count our Blessings from our Knees

so many never seem to learn
but in this life, we all get a Turn
Just as we think we are Free
we find ourselves in need!

Life is not a bed of roses
so why do we suppose it
It is a teaching from above
In the End, It Teaches Love!!!

If you have opotunity read The Zahir, According to Islamic tradition, the Zahir is something or someone who ends up completely dominate the thinking of a person, no one can forget it at any time. What I like Paulo Coelho is that his works are very simple and very wise at the same time.hug
