As far as I’m concerned if a person is seriously genuine & honest would they need to advertise the fact?

If you are looking for a kind and genuine person, those traits are probably important to you; you'd be proud to say that you were kind and genuine yourself; I certainly am. Sometimes it's healthy to be cynical, but when people say that they are kind honest and genuine in profiles I tend to believe them.
I don't think it would occur to most of the truly selfish and unkind on dating sites to lie about themselves - they're usually pretty self-satisfied. They're too busy talking about their athleticism or complaining about the lack of good looking people to choose from to even think to mention that they are genuine. I'm always intrigued by what people put in profiles, but even more intrigued by what they don't say.
