Thank goodness for freedom of speech,am not posting my opion to get any slack from any,am just giving my personal opion.
I know that there are crimes that most feel that the death penalty is required, but I feel that life without parole is what sits well with me.
Am not overly religous, but to me,only God can judg us,on each side of the cross was a thief, and a murderer, and the murderer was trully sorry for the crime he committed, and was trully sorry for the crime he committed ,and was forgiven.
Many times a man is put to death, and it is the wrong man,and yes many, and most times, its the right man.But murder is murder, regardless of how,or who,and death is a easy way out,to live with yourself, and all you have done,to me is part of the punishment,to have to stew in your crime, and yes,not all men or woman have a consciecne.
But in end,let he God be the judge.
I know its cosly to have to have a prisoner incarserated, and my tax dollars are high enough as is,but can we as humans, not forget, but find a wee bit of compassion,or at the very least some way to let the real judge deal with it,the way he best feel suited.
Death Penalty...no agonizing, no severe depressions etc. and no need to house, clothes and feed the person and prolong a tortuous existance, even though, they did exatly that to a victim, or several, whatever; quick and clean and no suffering.I've seen too much of that.
death penalty. save the tax payers tons of money! And I wouldn't want someone that killed a member of my family getting education, learning new skills, getting all the medical treatment including dental, for free...finding God, if he/she had God in the first place wouldn't have done such a thing. It would prolong some agoney. this is my opinion.
First of all thank God we live in a culture where we have the freedom of speech and of choice as well. Yet, We also live in a culture where crimes do exist and as such we have to have some sort of law to abide by. We, as the public have to face laws daily, and those laws are pursuant to the crime or offense. Those laws came in to effect for a reason, and the reason being was to keep a civilized society. Without any laws, can you imagine the world we would live in? In the end all will be judged, but unfortunately in the here and now, often times our legislature and crimainal laws are called upon to "temoporarily" judge an act of violence or other criminal act. I know I am beating around the bush here a little bit, and for that I will apologize, but here is my answer to this thread. The laws were put in to place for all to know long before the crime was comitted. Anyone who decides to committ any crime also knows this in advance. So let the punnishment fit the crime. If that crime calls for life in prison, so be it. If it calls for death, so be it.
Thanks everyone for your thoughts on this. I am going to leave it open until tomorrow afternoon just in case anyone else has a thought. My paper is due Sunday, so that should give me plenty of time.
You all had some very good input, I especially liked the website you gave kantsleep2nite, thanks.
