I love travelling.

In December 2010 I went to India and visited Bangalore (the best!), Delhi (the worst!), Agra (Taj Mahal is there), Mumbai (nice and big), Jaipur (nice and unusual),
I was 2.5 weeks there. It was nice experience with beautiful culture and history. People are very friendly in India.
But it was too long and I got tired. 10-12 days in India would be enough.

I went to Bali 2 times and already booked for July 2011 again. Me and my 10 years old daughter love it. Very relaxing. You feel you have a holiday.

I went to USA in 2007. Visited Los Angeles, Las Vegas and Orlando. Nice country, but not much different from any western countries, so once was enough. My daughter loved Disney World and Disney Land.

I went to Jordan and Egypt in 2009. It was nice, as we hired a car and drove everywhere in Jordan. In Egypt, Cairo/Giza, we went to see pyramids (to have a tick -we have this experience!), we did not hire car in Egypt as it is impossible to drive in such bad traffic, we would be crashed instantly- no rules up there. Visited Alexandria in Egypt. In our way back we did shop in Emirates (highlight of travel for a woman!) So, it was good to see Middle East.

Yeah, Bali did nothing for me, waaaaay too touristy and the markets at Kuta are mostly full of crap. Can't comment on the other parts of the island, as was only there for a few days.

The touts are a pain in the butt as they are in any of these countries, but at least they aren't allowed on the beach unless they have a licence.

So you only get clobbered by the ones who do .. often laugh

The mountains are lovely and at least there, you get some fresh air and it's less crowded. I hired a driver for the day and got away from it all, best thing I did the whole time wine

Sorry, I meant to say I can't suggest anywhere else that would top Thailand for the things you mentioned kizzy, especially at the price.

Why not just do it all again dunno

I've been to Bali, Singapore, Malaysia & Sabah(Borneo). Sabah is great, cheap, lovely hotels, beautiful people. You can go see the orangutans, turtles etc.

Have heard Vietnam is lovely and alot of people are going to China at the moment.

Are you travelling alone. I have heard of a company who arranges tour groups for women who are travelling alone.

One of the ladies I work with was asked to go to bali each year for years by her husband but she kept refusing to go. She had no interest in going to Bali. 3 years ago she gave into his nagging and went with him. She has been every year since and as soon as they get back from there, they book their next trip. I would love to check out Bali too.
