K...so last night when I was taking the trash to the corner...I noticed this wee kitten. I scrunched down and tried to get it to come to me, it almost did but then got scared by some kids walking by and bolted. Well I guess I didnt realize, but the lil guy made his way to my door. It spent the night huddled into the corner, and when I opened my door here was this tiny thing peering over the door-stop....I tried to pick it up but it turned into a razor blade ball of spitting and hissing and bolted again. I bought some kitty food, found it huddled up on the garden wall. Now that Ive had a closer look, I can see that its only about a month old its eyes are not focused yet, and it hasnt grown all its milk teeth. Everytime I made a sudden move it would freak out so I decided to leave it in peace for now and try again. The thing is, there are a lot of street animals here, and so far Ive resisted because I travel, in spite of being a huge animal lover. I know that cats pick thier humans but Im not sure what to do. dunno

Give the kitten time...it's scared. Just keep leaving it little bits of food and some water. Kitten will start to associate your scent with food and before you know it, it has made its little self a home with you.

You feed it, it will keep coming back, lol...give it time, it will figure out your not a threat..

My best friend of near 21 years picked me, some kids were trying to get him to cross the highway to watch him get run over ...he turned instead and followed me home...he was the best thing that ever happened to me. smitten

Just keep doing what you are. It will take time for it to trust you as you don't know what it has been through already. I have a cat that showed up here in Sept. its face was one big scab and fur and bones. I started to leave food out for it and it has healed and gained weight. It is getting a little closer to me, but as it is older and I have no idea how it came here or what it has been through I just give it space. One day it may trust me enough to touch it. Out here we have wild animals who could cause it severe harm and yes I worry about Q-Tip too. He is all white and the name fit. He knows his name and my call when I put outside for him. Don't give up and good luck. hug

get a blanket and throw it over the kitten to control it's claws and mouth and then take it inside.
Have a large box or escape proof enclosure for it.
then after you get it in there, just leave it alone to calm down and get used to you.
The desire for food will make you his friend.
The thing is to keep your distance and let the kitten accept you rather then forcing yourself on the kitten.

Well its eyes are still unfocused, I dont know how it made it all the way to my door. Im thinking its probably wild too. But obviously it found me for a reason. The problem is I travel and thats why Ive resisted getting a pet here. But for sure if I cant recue it ...its done. Theres no way it will survive. Animals have a very tough go of it here in this country. They are very behind in terms of animal rights or even responsible pet ownership. blues

It will be back....

It knows that you're its friend....and are safe...

You'll just have to get a babysitter when you go away....

The universe has decided.... :)
