Today as I quietly spent time near where I burried my furry buddy - the thought clearly came to me .......
There is a magical bond one has with a unique animal......one which possibly never is achieved with a human.......maybe because of the unmistakable trust and unconditional love...

Aww I am sorry for your loss. Pets are lovely - they give us unconditional love.

You are so right on that..I think my dogs have more integrity than some of the people I've met over the years.
Pets are a special companion, go through everything with us, never fail us, listen to our woes and never judge, all they want is love and attention and what the give back to us in return is priceless.
Thanks Much Ladies..... this was an especially tough day for me here.
From talking with people who have had numerous pets .....it never is any easier when they go .........but more acceptable to eventually get a new one . Not for replacement - but for companionship. I was just warming up to the idea today for the first time that it would be foolish not to try it again. Who wouldn't want that unconditional love in the house again ?

I never thought I'd ever get another pet again but I did.My little guy has added great joy to my life and I don't regret for a single minute of adopting him.

Yea.....I am happy for you . When you lose them ....for a while it just doesn't seem right to go right out and replace em . Kinda like the feeling just after a long relationship.....takes a while before you wanna open up to anyone for a while....

Unless of course you just wanna ....
Sorry, this was supposed to be a serious thread
I was being serious j and I'm sorry you didn't think I was being serious.I'm also not the kind of woman who takes a relationship or my pets for granted. You don't know me j.I'm tha very same in person as I am here.I wouldn't any other way to be but myself.
I have very tender feelings j and I hurt when I see others hurt too.I don't have a clue as to what other people you've dealt with in your life but I have a big heart.

I understand exactly how you feel. Getting another one, I think that depends on the person, everyone is different. Some people need a long time, others don't, just depends on the person. I have a friend who lost a 10 year old cat just a few weeks ago and told me yesterday she is getting a new kitten, that she knows of one that was recently born. She wants it as a companion for a cat she still has because that cat's buddy is gone and it is lonely. But it's obvious she is excited about a new 'baby' in the house (she has a husband and child, so she isn't a cat lady...just like animals). Anyway, how soon you get a new friend is personal and up to you.
