Is anyone reading anything right now that is really good and that you want to recommend or share? If so, let us know, perhaps the title and a short synopsis...

I am reading 'The Snowman' by Norwegian author Jo Nesbo. It is a murder msytery as narrated by the investigating officer. The synopsis:

Soon the first snow will come, and then we will appear again. And wnen the snow has gone, he will have taken someone else. A young boy wakes to find his mother missing. Thier house is empty but outside in the garden he sees his mother's favourite scarf - wrapped around the neck of a snowman. As Harry Hole and his team begin their investigation they discover that an alarming number of wives and mothers have gone missing over the years.....

Hi Immanuelle,

Nice interesting thread!thumbs up

I been reading, and "editing" a book..! Ja ME!rolling on the floor laughing

It`s to be published online, first, then available on "Kibble" or whatever that new fangled electronic book downloading device is called.

I tried to find the "teaser" of it ... but it eludes me at the moment ... As soon as I do find it wherever the author has published it, I`ll put it on here ... to TEASE up the readers!grin

Interesting reading, even though I had to read it thru THREE times! ..... about an ordinary young man who enters another dimension ..... and all the havoc this creates ... that us lesser mortals are unaware of ... going on around us every day.......drinking

Maybe its about time I moved to that Dimension! hahahaaa ... my eyes water and burn because I read SO much! Costs me a fortune in new reading glasses every year!......

I been reading an interesting book on how to improve one`s eyesight ...... an idea some guy came up with in the 1920`s ...and Oculists HATE him and his ideas ... cause it means less money in their pockets? ...hahaaaa...grin Whenever I remember his instructions I try out the excercises, and they really do help.

Aldous Huxley wrote it .. the same author of other controversial books.....drinking (it`s that time of the evening for a Whisky)

Good evening ladies,

If you are interested in these multi-dimensional books, I finished a cool one about 2 months ago. A bit confusing, I might have to read it again.

The Time Traveler's Wife:
This is the extraordinary love story of Clare and Henry who met when Clare was 6 and Henry was 36, and were married when clare was 22 and Henry 30. Impossible but true, because Henry suffers from a rare condition where his genetic clock periodically resets and he finds himself pulled suddenly into his past or future. In the face of this force they can neither prevent nor control, Henry and Clare's struggle to lead normal lives is both intesnely moving and entirely unforgettable....by Audrey Niffenegger
(whoa, what a name!!)

Dear Miss Smoky, do let us know when your book is online. Hi Tomboy girl, audio books are fantastic when you are doing housework, makes the time go by faster and you get two things done at the same time...wonderful...

Cool, I googled it as I thought Emmanuelle was only made as a movie. scold I saw it way back when. Interesting facts though I found out. The actress Sylvia Kristel was born in Utrecht which is about a 20 minute train ride from where I live in the Netherlands and she shares the same birthday as me, September 28, different year. Thanks

Have read a couple of books by Nesbö, but can’t say more that it were interesting crime stories to read as don’t remember anything else particularly. dunno

Have given myself “Our kind of traitor” of Le Carré for New Year that left me disappointed. I was, and in many cases still am, a great fan of him, but he went into iterations. It would be very good as your first book of him, but after “Russia house” and “Night manager”… Really pity.sigh

I read now at home - and you don’t want to know what I read at work laugh - “Eperor of Ocean Park” of one Stephen L. Carter. Enjoy the language. Here’s a bit of review:

“Intricate, superbly written, often scathingly funny, it is a triumphant work of fiction, a brilliantly crafted tapestry of ambition, family secrets, and justice gone terribly wrong.”

Autism - Medical and Educational Aspects:

Synopsis: Though autism is one of the best documented and validated childhood psychiatric syndromes, there remains an enormous chasm between theoretical understanding of autism and understanding of it in the practice of daily life. This book attempts to go some way towards bridging that gap. Put in the simplest of terms, people with autism find it difficult to deal with symbols. Since the whole of human society depends on symbols - language being the prime example, people with autism consequently live in a world that they barely understand and in which they have difficulty in making themselves understood.

It's national autism awareness week folks. Spread the word. I am.
