The early images on TV are very disturbing.. at the moment it is the East Coast of Honshu Island that is affected mostly.

My thoughts and prayers to the Japanese people during this tragedy.

The disasters of the last 6 months are incredable , each one I think wow it cant get any worse , what is happening to our planet?
Mother nature has pms reallll bad so hang on folks the worst may not yet be upon us ....

Cardwell tully are under flood again still not yet recovered from Yasi! Newzealand is still recovering victims from their own earthquake , I pray your not effected in anyway.
memories of the boxing day tsunami fill my mind I remember being on the beach with my radio and hearing the reporter say that 12 people had lost thier lives and thinking man thats terrible a dozen people killed , ofcourse the tragedy blew out to quarter of a million souls lost ....like many I was numb for months
I pray its not the case for the japanese

Yep agreed and the operative word is "natural". These events happen, not Mother Nature, there is no such being, it is tragic, but part of life on this planet.

For sure, and it's not a cliche but a reminder to live our lives how we really want to.

Tomorrow never came for so many people who were here only a few weeks ago sad flower

Any day could be your last, but natural disasters are just that, if you think about it? the centre off the planet is still to this day unstable molten larva,

In the life of a planet, humans have only been living on this one for such a short time, the only difference is the dinosaurs didn’t have the internet or TV,

I seriously find the one hard to believe, you only have to look back in history when the world was a lot hotter and even when the world was a lot cooler, the planet is still young as planets go, and when you think about it? When the weather forecasters are using old Brazilian words to describe the current weather patterns, it makes me realizes with all their technology with satellites, they still have know bloody idea!

Climate change is real! Man made climate change is a lie!

Earthquakes, Tsuanamis, Floods and cricket/locust plagues...
it's beginning to sound like a bible story mumbling

Just been watching the news and seen people trying to drive as fast as they can away from the tsuanami..
Absolutely heart breaking

I have few friends who are very religious and voiced the opinion that it is the start of Armageddon (sp?) Like you Mr Blizz I think it is just another stage in the evolution of this planet. Which ever the reason we are all at the mercy of mother nature.

There is going to be a huge number of lives lost. Whole families just gone - it is a terrifying thought - and nothing they could have done to stop it happening.
