I guess some people do not realize how much business goes on during a game of golf. So much of contract negotiation and coming to terms to broker a deal happens that it really is a game of business, rather then going out there to just have a good time.

venusenvy: I have no wish to be pulled into a political debate. I was Simply responding to the O/P's apparent outrage that the Pres played a game of golf...Get a grip peeps its a game of golf. Its not like Nero fiddling while Rome burned. What would you have him do? go to Japan and stick his finger in the leaking reactors to try and plug it?? As to Libya...wake up, the rest of the world leaders havent rushed in to do anything either....Keep it in perspective...Its a game of GOLF!!!

Well, OK...and can I just say, you do the same...for someone who says they have no wish to get "pulled" into a political debate...you, too, are making a damn big issue out of a game of golf...maybe we both need to find our "zen" this morning....dunno

Very true we have incredible golf courses here that cater to exactly that. The resorts recognize that lots of biz gets done on the golf course now wine

I feel bad for any President of ANY country. If they re-act..then they get criticized for over re-acting. If they don't re-act fast enough then they are useless and cowardice. What a crappy job. You will never make everyone happy, even those in your own political party, so I guess he just needs to do what he feels is best.

I did not read the Op's post as an issue with playing or not playing golf I read it as an issue with President Obama......with our current administration...wine

the people who supports him really don't care what happens to the people of libya and that is sad. all this president knows how to do is to play basketball, play golf,go on expensive trips at the expence of the american taxpayer and kiss up to countries who hates us while snubbing our allies like israel.he dosen;t have his pirorities in line. what goes on in the middle east affects our nation and the rest of the world. he is suppose to be the leadre of ther free world and yet he acts like a playboy and to pay attention to what the people want and to h is own party. even his own party members want him to act in libya. when clinton was in office he went ahead with the no fly zone in bosnia and he told the russians and chines to xcrew themselves

obama is not acting in the best interests of america. if the person in libya wins. it will show that america are cowards and won't help people in need and weak. obama will be a one term president. he doesn't have the nads to stand up to dictators. his popularity is going down alot. this president has done more harm than bush did. at least bush helped countries acheived freedom this president won't. he is all mouth and no action. he also doesn't realized the threat of the radical musilms pose to this nation and to the world and he doesn't care about the security of our borders from illegals and other people from different nations who cross here illegally. he should be impeached along with this administration and several congressmen because of their incompetent handling of the borders

Who are these people?? How do you know what the people want? Many want him to act and many want him to hold back. What poll have you seen that suggests that the mass majority want to be involved in Libya? Who says he doesn't care?? Sometimes there's a time to fight and a time to wait.

How do you know the people who support Obama don't care what happens in this world.Do you own a crystal ball or something.

Explain to me how a republican president is so so perfect over a Democrat.Aren't both political parties responible for the mess we're in and are most likely going to be in.Who the heck put us into the two wars we're in now.Yes I know Obama still has our troops still in them.
