As I said before, be aware of this shifting of our earth, well under the sea's, this fault line travels a long way, from Russia to Russia, via Australia coast, & across to the USA,
The law of averages tells me Queensland / NSW coast is in danger, hope I'm wrong,

Don't become complacent !!!,

Well, Become what ever u wish !! U are over there, we are over here, my warning goes to people on the Aust Qld/Nsw coast,if one remembers the Granville earthquake NSW, not that long ago, & came after a more aggressive quake father north, so if I lived on a quake zone, that this week had aftershock of 4.6 QLD, I think I would move house.

I live on the Saint Andrews fault and we should always be prepared for the worst, in any situation life gives us.
Water, flashlights, batteries and food for at least 72 hours.
God bless all people that have lived and learned that the world will win
the war we all want to fight!
God bless those in need......

Exactly.thumbs up

the crust of the earth that we live on is twenty miles thick and floats around on a molten mantle and an even more liquid core thousands of miles deep. The crust moves three inches per year and sometimes, doesn't move at all but builds up pressure and then releases it when an earthquake occurs.

Billions of years at three inches per year equals the plates moving across the world and back again in constant movement fueled by radioactive bursts which keep the core hot and liquid and, the actions of the earth are not counted in one person's life time, a week or a few days but in millions of years so to turn and give a dire warning of what to or what to not do is pretty silly as whatever you do, might have to be done for a million or ten million years hence Virgosingle's advise to just get on with it and adapt as one can while carrying on with life is the best policy.

We do have a choice, City's are built in wrong places, most building around the world is profit driven, the hideous building, built in water coarse around Australia are local council driven, & locale investors with mates in high places, Same in UK, France, etc,
In Japan, the worlds biggest sea wall, & the sea went over the top, where are these people now, who design, killing thousands, its not just Japan,
Australia has all its major towns on the coast, seaside property on Sydney harbor cost $ millions, all property on the beach is worth much more, people live in a world of delusion,
There's plenty we can do, We can get smart to start with.

doh

That was 200 years ago, have we got smart in 200 yrs ?
Its possible to channel sea water of miles inland, & create a tidal sea, cheaper than an uncertain future, but its the first initial cost, governments go fro cheap option, life is cheap, one year from now & Japan will be a distant memory, only thought-of when the anniversary comes around, last week...If only those people that have now died, new what there life is worth.

RobertGill: Bad joke, things like that I don't like,
I do think if u do on-line research, u should be able to supply your self with a kit, the place u will need to be if a quake happens, if one dose research, u can get a very good idea of the best place, then set-it up like a nuclear shelter, stay out of places of problems like underground etc, good luck,

Yeah, well I ordered the kit, just waiting for it to come in stock as they are flying off the shelves right now. I don't really have a back up plan if something were to happen to my place.....other than a close friend that would take me in. Family would be too far for me to get to. Half the time I forget about it when I'm underground but the odd time I have avoided it. Just hope it doesn't happen in my life time. Can't walk around paranoid all the time either!

musicfreak: All you can do is be prepared and try not to worry about it. But I do worry sometimes when I'm on a bridge, ferry, taking the skytrain underground or if I'm underground in the mall.

A funny story.....I went to Universal Studios in California about 13 years ago. My friend wanted to go on this tour where you went and saw old movie sets etc. So we went into one building on a train thing that took us around and all of a sudden the place shook like hell and I started to freak and was about to bail out of the car when he started laughing. Next thing I know the whole thing was a joke as it was all fake. He knew all a long!

Jeez, that was a joke and a half.. but I am glad it was not my experience...

But I live in the hills and far from the coast, and I always have bushfire in the back of my mind...on windy days, while I am in the city at work, I go for a peek outta the window to see if there is fire or smoke in the hills - which is visible from my view point...
This does not stop me from living in the hills..just mindful it occurs...

and for a plan, yep, it is what makes me climb the ladder onto my roof often to blow out the leaves from the gutters..

Only once I have had to get up with the hose ready.. sigh same as with earthquakes.. cannot predict when ijits decide to light a fire that will ravish the district... frustrated
