"It's one thing to adjust your girdle, touch-up your makeup, and brush your hair while going down Interstate 10 at 85MPH, but at 15,000 FT, and 700-800MPH....girl...you BETTER have all that sh#t done and in place...before flying me anywhere!"
TheresMyFriend: Well, for me....here is my theory:

Most airliners fly at 30,000 feet not 15 and they cruse at between 5 and 6 hundred knots not 7 or 8 . Seeing as how they would know this and you don't I think I'll take the women pilots over you any day . . . . .

They don't have to paralell park the aircraft so I wouldn't be too worried! A man comes along with a little truck and takes over!
I teach pilots to fly the Boeing 737 800 airplane at Shannon Airport. Lots of my students have been women and they have been more successful at getting jobs. Nearly all the air traffic controllers at Shannon are women.

Usually after about 6 years of very hard study and tons of simulator time. To become an airline pilot you do not need any flying skills or air hours. They help but are not necessary. Everything on the plane is controlled by computers and learning how it all works is where it is at these days.
The boeing 737 can make perfect autolands and takeoffs.

Women would probably make good pilots, I would however suggest you don't let them have a go at navigating, passenger would get uncomfortable with all the nagging in the cockpit.
I had a female client years ago who was a helicopter pilot in the air force. She was honored to cross over to air plains. This training would take her out of state for months. Her ex took her back to court for the kids because she would be an absent parent, boy was he surprised. The Judge had the children stay with her parents and slapped him with child support increase. The Judge was an army brat and knew this woman/mother was serving out country.

Have you not noticed that the women are already in training for Navigating?
I can remember very well, the nights I would hear: "A little to the left honey...no...that is too far, now back to the right...then down a little....NO, NO...you idiot..that was too %#&% low. Back up, and just leave me alone!" ZzZzZzZ

In keeping with equal opportunity employment laws, When there is a Female captain is in charge of an aircraft, the "Cockpit" will be renamed "The Box Office."

Very good !!!!!
It is actually called the Flight Deck ! The old terms co-pilot and first officer have now gone. It is now The Pilot Flying and The Pilot Monitoring.
