There was some nusing home in the media last year where the resident cat would choose to curl up on the bed of the person who was going to die next, it knew something nobody else did.

I agree, have a pet but try to avoid feeding the vet ... or putting the Vet's kids through university.
Disclaimer; The author knows several vets and they are all hard working people with feelings. However, veterinary clinics cost heaps to set up and run and if the vet was heartbroken along with the pet owner at every pet tragedy their obligatory Shrink would suck up any profit made.

my daughter bought a cat 4 months ago..when she had had it for about 6 weeks..it went outside and got knocked by a passing car and fractured it,s leg, went to a vet, stayed 3 nights after surgery to make sure it ok to go home, the vet bill was $ 18oo, for a bloody CAT!!!!!!!!!!! A FURTHER 100 dollars for 3 check up to make sure it repaired ok..again..what use is a cat? at least you can ride a horse...save on fuel lol...eat grass saves on mowing and can sell and get ur money back..
