Dear Rockabilly,

So sorry to hear that you are having tooth aches. That is the worse! Reason why it hurts so much more at night is twofold. 1: You are not distracted by anything else, you are quiet so you are able to focus more on the pain. During the day whilst doing your thing, moving about, talking, working etc. you don't think much of your tooth.
2. When you lie down, there is a redistribution of fluids in your body, blood pressure is exerted more in your head because your head lies more or less parallel to your heart which pumps the blood. This causes more pressure on the ouwie.... That's why you may feel your heart pulse in your tooth. Elevate your head (higher than your heart) more at night until the tooth problem is gone.

Sorry, my posting went over 4 lines. Hope you feel better.

hug

Hi Twin,

Cloves do work, but it is very mild and only on the surface - it ends up numbing your tongue a bit. (I think people may use cloves on babies who are teething to soothe the pain). I have had life long battles with tooth nonsense. Mostly because I put off putting going to the dentist because I am so scared of them. But topo meds only sooth very temporarily and not effectively. The only thing you can do to really alleviate the pain that is emanating from your nerves (not a surface injury) is bite the bullet and go to the lovely yet slightly evil people they call the dentist.....Remember, the dentist is your friend.

Clove Oil ..... or just biting down on a Clove, works.

Tea Tree Oil works. And if you have an infection (like a budding abcess) then eating 10 leaves of Nasturtian will kill the infection (a natural antibiotic, and it really really works, I proved it - but you gotta eat at least TEN leaves every 2 hours! )... before going for the root canal work!

Or else .... brush your teeth with a mixture of sea-salt and Bicarbonate of Soda ....... that allows your body to heal your teeth .... as opposed to commercial toothpast that encourages rot and caries. (Running to hide from aspiring(or practicing dental hygienists who depend on rotten teeth for a living) dentists on this site!)..... drinking
