GOSH you younsters sure make "old" sound like a crapshoot - and pain in the butt. I've resigned then - don't want to be in that club - though my age puts me there.
Not talking to myself - yet - not stopping strangers on the street though I do get propositioned by a lot of younger guys. I can't find a live one my age - but man can I find them under 50 and since I've lost weight - under 40!
So guess "old" is a relative term hmmmm?
No, I live alone and love it. I can do what I please, when I please and how and if I please. If I want a lover - I have one and if I want alone time I have that.
It's fun - unless you can't stand to live with yourself - then I guess you'd be afraid of living alone.
Lonely and alone - by the way - are vastly different. I live alone since husband of 34 years died but I'm not lonely.

Oh, I quite like those ones, but that's normal in Wales. Random strangers strike up conversations regardless of age.
When I first moved to Wales I used to wear my hair braided and beaded. I remember an old biddy at a bus stop was all over me like a rash feeling my hair and chattering away. So much healthier than the type that'll look at you like you're gonna rob their pension book, or something.
The biddies that stay social get surprisingly feminist in a humorous way, I've found, and often impart words of great wisdom.
Yeah, voluntary work, dying my hair purple and accosting youngsters at the bus stop for a toke on their spliff. I've got it all planned.
