kidatheart: There are also Aussie/NZ, UK, Irish, and Canadian forums on the site besides the EU, Intl, and seperate US state forums.
I'd be all for having a single US forum rather than the individual states.
The International forum could stay just the way it is, no need to get rid of it, but if some people felt more comfortable discussing politics or "other BS" in their own country's forum, then why not have it available.

Others besides Ooby have raised the issue as well. I believe the real reason is, CS is worried that the International Forums would become a tomb without all the US members essentially forced there. But that's just my guess.

It certainly would be a refreshing change to hear from CS on the subject. The only time CS makes their presence known is when they ban somebody. If this is their fear it is totally unfounded and totally wrong. Nothing would change as far as the forums are concerned. Would I stop posting in the INT forum? How could I if the USA forum was part of the INT forum? The only thing that would change is I would be unable to post in the Virginia forum which I don't do anyway because the VA forum, like ALL state forums......... IS DEAD!Of course it could be something else altogether which makes much more sense. Hint: FOLLOW THE MONEY!
When you can tell an advertiser that you have exposure in all 50 states you create the impression that you're much bigger than if you only had 1 forum to advertise on. A company would think gee I can put 50 banner ads out there instead of just 1. That's a strong incentive for a co to advertise with this type of site.

I know, I know, It is getting so beautiful in GA.. All the rain is making everything green. Tulips and daffodils were outstanding this year, and now it is time for the day lilies. There was a statement about a year ago from the mods saying that Tallbrunette had created the site but had moved on to other things in CS. This statement was during one of the mass Troll culls on CS! I suspect that she sold it on as there has been a definite shift on how the site operates and what is acceptable. A friend of mine used to get CS Tshirts and baseball caps from her for promotional purposes at the meets.
I tried to email her once as I would have known her in my early days and recieved no reply and that would be out of character.
Like I say, I'm supposing here but I'm pretty sure she's no longer here. Probably sunning herself on her yacht in Barbados as we speak. Fair play to her!
