Well, i can understand that to a certain extent. In the hands of properly qualified people,i have no doubt that certain remedies can be benificial. However, like many things now, many unqualified people,or those who attend quick courses,or get the imformation of the internet, suddenly become "experts".It has happened in mny "trades". When dealing with health,we would not let an unqualified doctor, knowingly, practice.Or a dentist ect. Sadly, those genuine ones will suffer because of the others. Perhaps,in the future,a proper qualification will be adopted, and policed by the medical watchdogs,to ensure safety.

We have it here in the US, it's called the FDA, the gov. regulates everything we have access too and sometimes, that's not necessarily a bad thing. What particular ones are you concerned with?

This is not about protecting people, it's about protecting the revenues of pharmaceutical corporations ...
If you listen to the WHOLE video you will hear that for instance under the same sort of directive people in Canada can't even grow ROSEMARY in their own gardens ...
Making sure that unqualified "experts" don't harm people is one thing ... Complete controle of what people can grow for themselves is another ...
Why should medicinal plants that have been used for 1000's of years suddenly become harmful?

Well, my knowledge on this is limited, and therefor for me to comment any further would be foolish.

More info from the net.
Under the new law traditional products must be licensed or prescribed by a registered herbal practitioner. The directive was introduced due to growing safety concerns about the side effects of many alternative medicines. The UK Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency has issued over 10 safety alerts in the past two years. The banned herb Aristolochia caused kidney failure in more than 100 women after they were given it at a slimming clinic in Belgium. Meanwhile black cohosh used by many menopausal women has been linked to liver damage. The MHRA said it had received applications for licenses for 166 herbal products, of which 78 had been granted. Sir Alasdair Breckenridge, chairman of the MHRA, said a register of herbalists was essential. “Just because something is natural doesn’t mean it is safe,” he said. “It is terribly important to have responsible people who have undergone training prescribing these products.” According to the Alliance for Natural Health (ANH), which represents herbal practitioners, not a single product used in traditional Chinese medicine or ayurvedic medicine has been licensed. In Europe, around 200 products from 27 plant species have been licensed but there are 300 plant species in use in the UK alone.

I’m not saying the above is false and maybe we’re not talking about the same plant but I did find this on the net:

What a load of horsedroppings . I use rosemay all the time, espcialy in chicken dishes . I will be able to use and grow it anytime and anywhere I like . Just don't try to tell me that it is going to " cure " my cancer or keep me from aging or any such bull as that . I expect to have the medicines I might need be proven to do what they say they do . Why not let all the other ones do the same . Also the lie about no more plant medacine is so stupid it actually is laughable . Most of the medacines we have now are derived from plants, and all the traditional ones have been studied for any and all medical properties . Wether it's extracted from natural sources or synthesized , they have been closly examined . I've heard some of the wild clames made for these " natural " remadies , followed by the tired old rant about the big pharmacutical companies surpressing them . Even if they are the evil money grabbing conglomeraits they are made out to be . Wouldn't you think that a fortune could be made from any extract that actually worked . Doesn't anybody think any more ? . . . . .

Most natural remedies are harmless or have a negligible risk of minor side effects whereas many prescribed drugs have serious side effects and don't always do what it says on the tin.

Conorco: This post is a perfect example of how high level political corruption works.
Well the pharma Co's have tried to synthasise THC and the other active ingredients in Grass, but can't patent them as they are naturally occuring.... So ban it despite all the mant medical used along with the obvious social benefits
