If your doctor told you that you had onset symptoms of Alzheimer's Disease and that it will progress to the point that you won't recognize anyone or anything in the life that you now have, what do you think would be your first thought after that diagnosis?
Your children, spouse, your job, money.
Would you be angry.
Would you start working on your bucket list.
One day my daughter told me that if it happened to me it would break her heart that I didn’t know who she was.
And as I write this thread, I tear up because that would my first fear....how am I going to know who she is....
Alzheimers is what got my Nan in the end. It was sad...but in an odd way she was happy, living in her memories...It one that I hope they find a cure for soon
......this is NOT a disease- some jew frankenstein doctor named alzheimer decided to take credit for SENILITY........what the hell is the problem....?......stay busy.....think young- and stay away from sly doctors........the whole cursed usa doctor industry is geared to lying to people.......tell the doctor to go to hell- and that you want a refund of his fees......are people now so much like sheep that they run to the grossly overpaid doctors and say- 'tell me what is wrong with me...'......????????????.........look- take the stress out of your life with alternative methods..... cursed usa doctors just love to scare people- THAT IS HOW THEY CAN SEND BILLIONS IN TAX_EXEMPT DONATIONS TO ISRAEL

Alzheimer's is but one of many diseases that can debilitate people in life. As awful as it is, many people live a long and productive life with help and medication.
As for not recognising people in the latter stages this is more of a problem with the family in my opinion. If you were locked away in a world of your own it would bother your loved ones more than it would affect you.
As for bucket lists, people live for years with this disease, unlike cancer victims with a short term prognosis. Many people world wide are living with diseases that affect their quality of life, this is but one of them, and living in fear will not help but hinder how one deals with it.j.m.o.
BB, I'm not sure that I agree with the speaker. She implies that if we want to escape our thoughts we and can bring AZ into our lives. That doesn't make sense to me.

I agree, it would be harder on my daughter then on me but before I got to that point it would be a fear I lived with.
Many of us are procrastinators....I'll do it tomorrow....I'll do it when I get my bonus.....I'll do it when the kids are grown and left the nest. My bucket list is all around getting a knee replacement. There's always a reason to put off to tomorrow what we want to do today.

I'm not sure what she means about resistance.
I didn't bother to look at the video, just wrote my own thoughts about the subject.

Many people live on a daily basis with debilitating illnesses. Some cope, some give up,we are all different in how we deal with what life throws at us.
As for your knee op. make it a priority as to be pain free on a daily basis is a bonus.
I have just had a hip replacement, but here in the U.K. it's a matter of course, done within 18 weeks of diagnosise and at no cost to the patient.

morgan5: Hello Snuggs My Mother has Alzheimers and I do believe in her own way she was happy with her memories. But it was very hard for us to cope with.
Hi Morgan,hope you are well
As I said in a previous post ,it's the family that lose out not the patient. They are usually quite happy in their own world, and with love and patience can live an acceptable life on their own terms, but not ours.
