It's the first day of summer and as always it's a bank holiday and a time to celebrate the changing of the seasons. I'm told it's quite cold and it's been snowing this week, cold which is a good sign as when the two seasons merge it is suppose to bring a good summercool

In this country with a population less than Cardiff there are however only two seasons, winter and summer. So the question I would like to ask is, does anybody know which country this is? confused

I don't know about the British Isles, but I do know that the Western slope of the Rocky Mountains is the same way...two seasons...but a wonderful place to live. I miss it.....wine

Oh very clever Sail, yes this country does touch the arctic circle and the seasons are traditionally 'the cold, dark one' and the 'warm, light one'.

Yesterday was Sumardagurinn Fyrsti the first day of the Icelandic summer. Traditionaly Iceland follows the Norse calendar and celebrates the two changes of the season with a bank holiday and plenty of festivity.

So Gleðilegt Sumar! (Happy Summer)
