Thanks, but I actually asked for locals. doh

I'm thinking of travelling around March/ April next year- before summer peak.

Is that too cold then?, remember I come from New Zealand- so I am used to the cold.

Hi Euro Doll

Well i'll give you my thoughts since ive travelled around alot.

You have to visit London for one and see the London eye, the Tate Modern and generally see some of the buildings which are spectacular.

Visit Kings Cross train station, where the Harry Potter film was shot and they still have the platform there.

A visit to Newcastle and see the Angel of the North

York has a fantastic Cathedral and the whole city is surrounded by a wall with some nice oldy worldy places to visit.

Whitby up north which still looks like a 16th century town with cobbled streets and an Abbey where Count Dracula is supposedly burried which at night is amazing, it also has the best fish and chips in the world.

Visit Roseberry topping in Great Ayton North Yorkshire which is one of the smallest mountains in the world, it will take you about 3 hours to climb but the scenery is amazing.

Visit the Lake District in Cumbria which has 4 main lakes which are amazing views as well.

Hartlepool which has the Marina which is clased as one of the new wonders of the world.

I can keep going on but you maybe getting bored by now.

Well as the venerable gentlemen have mentioned, there are pros and cons to all of the major cities in the UK.

London is full of tourists, because theres lots of things to do.

Liverpool is also a beautiful city with a lot of culture.

Scotland's scenery is awesome, so is the south west of England's. Dartmoor, home of the story of Hound of the Baskervilles, (sherlock holmes) by Arthur Conan Doyle.

Our little island has so much diversity and so much history, that asking us about what to see will give you 20 different answers from 10 different people.

How long are you staying, what is your idea of fun, and what do you like to do when on holiday ...

If you want to mail me with specific things, I can give you a potted history of which city and what to do, and .. and ... and.

In the South West you will find:

Bath

Stonehenge

Avebury

White Horses

Cheddar Gorge and Wookey Hole caves

Countless National Trust houses but my favourite is Stourhead.

Millions of villages, woods, forests and more nature than you can shake a stick at !!!
