Unfortunately the world is full of materialistic and uncompromising people. They travel through life focused on all the wrong things and miss the opportunities that life has to offer. Most will claim to be romantic and believe a meal at an expensive restaurant or a bunch of flowers or box of chocolates are in themselves romantic gestures. They miss out on courtship and long conversations and will probably never write a love letters in their pitiful lives.
0rpheus: Unfortunately what they do write appears to be a whole new language. it takes me quite sometime to decipher text messages from my daughter. They seem to have lost the art of writing words and stringing sentences together. Conversations are short and usually last little more than a couple of minutes (or whatever length of time the adverts are on for) and distractions from mobiles and other gizmo's usually kill of any that show signs of exceeding more than a few minutes.

In my day we where sent to our rooms for punishment, now you have to send them out of their rooms to punish them. Away from the TV's x-boxes and all the other gizmo's that their lives revolve around.
